I was invited to speak at the Santa Fe Rotary Club Del Sur last week to introduce them to the work of one of my clients, Earth Works Institute and the Adopt-an-Arroyo Program with the City of Santa Fe. It was a delightful, fun-filled, informative event – even the food at the Courtyard Marriott couldn’t be faulted. I felt a sense of fellowship and common purpose surrounded by local business people who care enough about their community to offer their time, energy and financial support to those in need. My tip for today is check out your local Rotary Club.
Besides my pitch, Linda Milanesi of Assistance Dogs of the West, demonstrated how these fabulously trained dogs do their thing. Check them out at http://www.assistancedogsofthewest.org/ I was so impressed with the concept of young people training dogs to help others.
Let me know about your best experience with Rotary Club or a recent really good experience with a non-profit involving dogs. Thanks!
