Greetings from Santa Fe, New Mexico…
…home to 900 non-profits in a county of 144,000 people. This level of compassion and social engagement is what prompted me to move here from Santa Monica, California almost four years ago, after visiting the area for 25 years.
I am also delighted to be a new resident of the blogosphere and to welcome you to Irene Webb Development’s inaugural post. Blogging was a foreign notion to me up until just a few months ago, when I realized that I actually had something valuable to offer the non-profit community of Northern New Mexico.
From the entertainment industry to fundraising
I formed Irene Webb Development, LLC to share the benefits of the skills I have acquired as a fundraiser for non-profit organizations as well as being a deal maker and marketer of books to producers, studios and networks during my years in the entertainment business.
Setting Intention
The intention of this blog is to pass along helpful tips and news to people who might benefit from them, and to create a forum where I can exchange ideas with others in the non-profit community. (I really love hanging out with people who want to make a difference)! One of my mottos is, “Helping Non-Profits Help Others.” Not only do I want to share my knowledge, but I would love some help as well. So, feel free to chime in with your thoughts and suggestions.
I’ll be blogging about important and timely things I learn about charitable giving, philanthropy and fundraising, and marketing great ideas through social media and traditional platforms. I’ll be sharing the fruits of events I attend on a regular basis—workshops, seminars, webinars, trainings, conferences, mixers, fundraising galas, lunches, dinners and breakfasts. Wow! What a life!
Thank you for checking in and helping to expand my network of friends who strive for social and environmental justice.
Irene
